CUSTOM PRINTING SERVICES BY L.A. AIR LINE, INC.
ART REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS
L.A. Air Line will print your 1 - 6 color digital line art, or print your digital photographic art (using
the CMYK process), on men's or women's t-shirts. The minimum quantity to order is only 24 pieces.
L.A. Air Line, in addition to producing and marketing its own line of hand painted and silkscreened men's and women's tees, thermals and hoodies, has
been an airbrushing, hand painting and screen printing contractor to the garment industry in Los Angeles, CA, for over thirty years.
Clients such as Lucky Brand, 7 For All Mankind, True Religion, ABS, and many more,
rely on the expertise and vast experience of the staff, superlative quality of the work done, and the reliability
to deliver on time, all of which have established the reputation of excellence which L.A. Air Line enjoys within the
garment industry.
Now YOU can create your own line of men's and women's tees with a level of quality difficult to find from most
silkscreen printing companies. Start your project by reviewing the art requirements and specifications below.
PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW TO ENSURE THAT YOUR DIGITAL ART
IS READY TO BE CONVERTED INTO SCREENABLE ART.
FOR SPOT COLOR (LINE ART) PRINTS, PRINTED USING ONE, AND UP TO SIX COLORS, MAXIMUM:
- Artwork should be created using ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. Please submit any of the following VECTOR GRAPHICS formats when saving your artwork in Illustrator:
.ai, .eps, or .pdf (saved for Illustrator Version CS2). If you are using FREEHAND, convert
text to paths, and save as .eps file. If you are using COREL DRAW, convert text to paths,
and save as .ai file.
- Please be sure to properly size the image to the desired height and width of the
final print. The maximum size for a standard print is 15" wide by 18" tall. Larger
sizes are available, CONTACT US for a quote. SLEEVE PRINTS should be sized to no more than 5" wide by 5" tall.
- Convert all fonts to outlines.
- Flatten the image.
- The spot colors in your flattened image will be matched to Pantone® numbers, which will be used in printing the image.
If you know the Pantone® numbers for the colors you would like to print,
please submit that information with your order.
- Print placement: VIEW OUR T-SHIRT PLACEMENT TEMPLATES, which show standard
print placements for front, back and sleeve prints. When you place your order, indicate the
placement of all art to be printed using the art placement code number(s) (PC#) indicated on the template(s)
you have selected. If you are printing more than one image, i.e., front and back, with a left sleeve print
(which would be three separate image files), be sure to clearly indicate which image file is the front
print, which is the back, etc.
FOR RASTER GRAPHICS (photographic digital images), PRINTED USING THE CMYK 4-COLOR PROCESS
(PLEASE NOTE - IF PRINTING ON A DARK, OR NON-WHITE SOLID GROUND COLOR, THERE IS A FIFTH UNDERPRINTER SCREEN,
IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD FOUR CMYK SCREENS). PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WHEN CREATING YOUR ART:
- Following are examples of situations where raster graphics would be preferred to vector graphics:
Any hand-drawn/painted artwork, black & white or color photograph which has been scanned
and converted to a digital image, or a digital photograph
which has been saved in any one of the formats shown in #2 below, and properly sized (see #4 below).
- The following formats may be submitted: Photoshop (.psd), .tif, .pict, or .eps, flattened and saved as CMYK. When creating the art, a minimum resolution
of 200-300 should be used, with 300 being the preferred resolution.
- Please DO NOT submit .jpg or .gif images, as the quality of the image is likely to be poor.
- Print placement: VIEW OUR T-SHIRT PLACEMENT TEMPLATES, which show standard

PLEASE NOTE: Placing a raster graphic into Illustrator and saving
it as .ai, .eps, or .pdf DOES NOT convert it into a vector graphic.

any of the following options:
1) by EMAIL (sales@LAAirLine.com)
(files must be no more than 10 megabytes)
2) by using a file tranfer service such as YouSendIt.com, or
